SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES: Certificate In Community Based Work with Children and Youth (CBWCY)

The aim of this programme is to enhance effectiveness in working with children at risk and to give students knowledge, skills and information to study key trends, theories and approaches in working with vulnerable groups.

 The outline of the programme has six courses (modules) as follows:

SEMESTER 1

• Personal and Professional Development (Module 1)
• Introduction to Human Rights-based Approaches & Child Protection (Module 2)
• Child and Youth Development (Module 3)

SEMESTER 2

• Care and Support of Children at Risk (Module 4)
• Community Development (Module 5)
• Service Learning Project (Module 6)
